The Shetland Double Drop Armchair is a supportive and comfortable side transfer chair with is easily operated by the user or by a carer.  Both arms lift up and out to drop down level with the seat.  The arm fills the gap between the chair and wheelchair for ease of transfer.  There are no catches, bolts or finger traps and the drop arms facilitate the introduction of a hoist sling under user.

There are a choice of two seat heights 470mm (18½”) or 520mm (20½”) with a choice of two widths : standard 510mm (20”) or wide 585mm (23”) at an extra cost.  This chair may be supplied with wings as an optional extra although these could potentially interfere with the side transfer.  They come standard with padded arms.

There is a strong underframe to withstand the pressures of side transfer and this chair may be fitted with pressure distributing visco-elastic foam in the seat as an optional extra.
